Land Art Organic Tea Tree Oil

Land Art Organic Tea Tree (Melaleuca) Oil is cultivated in wild regions of Australia from the leaves of the Tea Tree. This popular 100% pure oil has traditionally been used in Australia for over 100 years as a remedy for coughs, colds, skin conditions and treating wounds. In the mid 1920’s, Tea Tree oil started to become popular for use in surgery and dentistry. During World War II, it was utilized for wound healing and treating minor skin injuries.

Today,Tea Tree oil is widely used  topically for smooth clear skin and is a popular ingredient within the cosmetic and hygiene industry. It has long been found to benefit the health of the skin and is helpful for the treatment and healing of acne lesions and other skin conditions. Tea tree oil applied topically, appears to be as effective as benzoyl peroxide at treating acne. It is a slower at clearing skin than benzoyl peroxide but is much less harsh and irritating to the facial skin. Studies have shown a twice daily application of tea tree oil over a 45-day span, reduced acne symptoms and severity. Tea tree oil has anti-inflammatory activities that can help soothe skin irritations, sunburns and sooth the itching associated with bug bites.

Tea Tree oil has the anti-fungal power to combat minor fungal skin infections like athlete’s foot, dandruff, jock itch and nail fungus with topical application. Some studies suggest Tea tree to have potent antiviral and antibacterial properties. It has been shown to help inhibit the growth of a broad spectrum of pathogens, including E. Coli and common skin Staphylococcus species. Because of the antiviral action, it can help prevent Herpes virus outbreaks (cold sores) when topically applied to the area where sores occur. The antiseptic properties of Tea tree oil have been shown to aid wound healing and infection clearing of minor cuts and scrapes.

Land Art Organic Tea Tree Oil is an incredibly potent product. We suggest taking care with application and diluting with a carrier oil before topical application. Tea Tree oil should only be used topically and never ingested. It can be toxic when ingested orally.
